Prompt Tricks

The correct usage of your prompt can completely change the outcome of your image.

While using Nai, anything you image can come to life, however, learning how to put what you have in your mind into a command can be tricky, that's why here we will display some tips and things to consider when you want to create your next masterpiece.

Prompt Structure

There is no need have a complete book on how you imagine your character or environment, but there are a couple things you can be more specific about if you want to have a better outcome.

Subject

What is that you want to illustrate, it can be a person, an animal or whatever you want, but if you have something in mind, adding it to the prompt can be very useful to avoid getting a different result.

/ani cute girl, yellow hair, green eyes

Details and Surroundings

Now that you have the character, you can add a place you want it to be, or just what you want the character to have around, let your imagination guide you.

/ani cute girl, yellow hair, green eyes, castle, medieval

Style

This option can be the most fun to play with, you decide which style you want your character to have, or pick a style you want it to be, from a professional studio or a famous artist.

/ani cute girl, yellow hair, green eyes, castle, medieval, studio ghibli

Prompting Text Structure

Apart from the above suggestions, there are general prompting tips that are focused towards the way you execute the command itself, let's see a few examples:

  • Avoid short, non-descriptive prompts. The more detail the better.

  • Separate text with commas for best results [ex: cute dog girl, sunset, stunning]

  • Use parentheses to emphasize important descriptions [ex: cute dog girl, ((pink hair)), sunset]

  • Use style descriptions to enhance the quality of your render [ex: 8k, abstract, photo realistic, cinematic lighting]

  • Use style descriptions to mimic the style of famous artists and/or photographers (ex: monet, watercolor; picasso, abstract; or cyberpunk, syd mead)

  • When you know exactly what you want, you should be as clear and accurate as you can with your prompt. Use descriptive and detailed language in your prompt.

  • If you’re feeling creative, you can also use abstract descriptions and leave the interpretation up to Nai. For example ¨magical happiness¨ or “mystical sunshine”

/ani girl, yellow hair, green eyes, freckles, glasses, sunset, 8k, abstract, photo realistic, cinematic lighting, mystical.

On Discord, advanced prompters have more freedom:

Add --raw to your prompt to disable our backend prompt assistance

Add --uc=[negative prompts] to add negative prompts

Add --cfg=number to adjust how closely the model follows the prompt (the higher the number, the more it follows)

We recommend these only for advanced prompters as results can be worse if correct prompt engineering isn't used.
